Rodwell Trail
The old Portland railway line, flat and traffic free from Westham to Ferrybridge.

A 3.5 km path along the old Weymouth and Portland railway, which closed to passengers in 1952. It runs from Westham Bridge, near the Swannery car park, out to Ferrybridge with the old Westham and Rodwell platforms still there to spot. It passes Sandsfoot Castle and Gardens, so a detour for the view over Portland Harbour is worth it. It is part of National Cycle Route 26, so expect bikes.

Swannery car park at the town end. Buses on the Portland routes stop near Ferrybridge at the other.
Before you go: Do it one way and come back on the bus from Ferrybridge if the legs are done.
